EXTREME CLIMATE
BMT has the capability to pre-condition any test samples prior to ballistic or radiographic testing. Our sample conditioning capability includes:
Extreme Hot Climate Conditioning
Our hot climate conditioning chamber is suitable to hold large quantities of test samples and can reach a high temperature of +150 degrees C with a tolerance of +/- 2 degrees C.
Extreme Cold Climate Conditioning
Our “walk-in” cold climate conditioning chamber is suitable to hold large quantities of test samples and can reach a low temperature of -40 degrees C with a tolerance of +/- 2 degrees C.
Drop/Durability Test
Drop or durability testing can be conducted on body armour plates. With the assistance of our high resolution digital x-ray we can detect (as small as 120 micron) and very precisely measure any damage and pin point for a ballistic test. Similar drop or durability testing can be conducted on large composite or glass test samples.
Humidity
Our humidity chamber can hold large test samples and can maintain humidity to a tolerance of +/- 5%. The chamber can be heated during humidity conditioning if required.
Wet Conditioning of Body Armour (NIJ 0101.04 and NIJ 0101.06)
We have both spray mist wet conditioning (NIJ 0101.04) and submersion wet conditioning (NIJ 0101.06) facilities.
Water Immersion
We have deep water immersion (fresh or salt) down to 30m depth
Customised Conditioning
At BMT we have in depth experience at customising pre-test conditioning to customer requirements.
